This precious little girl was the very first baby we delivered – she was born in 2016
Having a midwife-led home birth was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made! The birth of your first child can be so overwhelming, but being in the comfort of your own home, a familiar place with your loved ones close by truly sets your body at ease.
Throughout my pregnancy with our first child, I felt deeply unsatisfied by the level of service that was being paid for by my husband and me when voicing our desires for the birth. From doctors not even taking the time to properly get to know our names, to nurses forcing their opinions on us.
When we found Sr Griqua, all of that changed. Suddenly, we had someone who got to know us, who came into our home and became like an aunt, who cared about what we wanted for our first meeting with our child and took great care in ensuring that the experience was magical. We had an advocate for our needs.
We welcomed our little one into the world in the comfort of our own home, with a caring, knowledgeable, and experienced midwife cheering us on. The care Sr Griqua provided throughout the entire experience, even visiting for coffee afterward, meant the world to us, and we’re certainly asking for her guidance again with the birth of our second child.
